When should I order my wedding dress?

This is the most common question our bridal stylists get asked and we wanted to do a quick post to update our brides on the truth behind the gown process with the current labor and shipping crisis.

Wedding gowns take anywhere between 6-9 months for production and shipping times to arrive from the designer to our boutique. This takes the current labor and shipping crisis into consideration to allow enough time to get the dress from the designer to you.

Why does it take so long for a wedding gown to be produced?

Our gowns are made to order from the time a special order is placed from when it arrives to our shop. Some styles, are luckily already in production so they can arrive faster than a typical wedding gown. Some styles, rush shipping and production times are available. It all depends on the gown itself. If the gown has beading/lace embroidery, it can take one worker 3-6 days to fully bead a gown. These gowns are hand beaded and embroidered. If you are doing customizations, the gown is pulled off the production line so your personal customizations can be made. This extends the time frame for the gown. These are just some of the details that add on to that 6-9 month time frame.

XOXO,
